It's the holidays! What do I pack to Dubai?

I AM SO EXCITED YOU GUYS! It's almost time to the start of my long holidays with the boyfriend and in just a couple of hours, I will be making my way down South to see his family. Tomorrow though, we will be catching our flight to Dubai! YAY!

Okay, so for the last few days I've been packing and re-packing my suitcase. You would think that I am a pro at packing at this point cause I am always on the move but I'm constantly worried about forgetting something and honestly, it happens sometime. So for this trip, I needed to pack for two very different weather. I needed  summery, breathable clothing for Dubai and wintery, I-don't-want-to-freeze clothing for the South. One of the things that I forgot when I first started packing was that a) I don't have that many summery clothes here in the UK and b) all the summery clothes that I do have here are well, inappropriate for Dubai - let's just say that they consist of a lot of crop tops 🙄... so I had to improvise.

I rummaged through my closet and - bam - thank god for my mom's decision to send me a bunch of clothing she bought from Korea. Who knew it would all come in handy during December?

In a nutshell, I am packing for Dubai as if I am packing for Malaysia. Why? Because according to the many advice forums on the internet, it's best to dress respectfully and conservatively especially if you're planning to venture outside of the resort or hotel areas. From what I've gathered, more conservative clothing rules apply the moment you leave the hotels. So here's what it means: it's best to be covered from the shoulders to knees for women though it is appropriate to show your arms as long as the top isn't entirely sleeveless. Oh and make sure the clothing you are packing isn't tightly fitted and that it isn't made out of see-through materials. Also, in case you are a little confused at the swimwear situation... bikinis are acceptable for the beach or pool areas as long it isn't the thong type. Just make sure that you are not walking around in between places wearing a bikini without a coverup as that may be inappropriate.

Ahh I am so excited for this trip! I'm even bringing my heavy DSLR because I want to capture every single amazing architecture that I see. I can't wait ❤️!

Our flight to London has been delayed by four hours due to the weather... UGH! But my oh my, it's real pretty with all the snowing right now. Time to put on the layers before I head on out to the airport and wait for my flight - wish me luck!
