Journal Entry: May
The last two weeks have gone by crazily fast. Between enjoying the sun outdoors, desperately hunting for an apartment, tracking macros, binge watching tv shows on Netflix and working... it's been a blur.
I feel like everyone always say this at the end of every month but really, how is it nearly June already?! We're almost midway through 2018 and I think that's insane! I suppose as you grow older, your days get repetitive and you've got a schedule to stick to so time just seem to fly past without you really noticing.
Anyways, these two weeks have been productive to say the least. Lots of things happened, lots of protein eaten, lots of steps taken and lots of GBBO rewatched. Perhaps the best news of all? We've finally found the apartment! AHHHHHHH and we'll be moving in just three weeks' time!
We haven't signed the papers for it just yet but it's in the process so fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and speedily. I can't begin to tell you guys the relief and excitement that I'm feeling right now. The place looks great, the location is superb and we've even got a private terrace in the new place so yay 😊! Your girl is officially moving out of the Northern Quarter area soon...
And unrelated to the moving shenanigans, I think my skin has drastically improved and gotten so much better the last couple of months. Besides trying to drink at least two litres of water a day and eating clean, I think there's about three products that I have to absolutely rave about. They are: the Nivea Creme (£2.99), Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads (£14.95) and The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask (£17).
Price and quality-wise, these three products are honestly a ten out of ten. I started using Nivea Creme as a daily moisturiser after my mom went to Japan and received skincare tips from local Japanese women. According to them, no Japanese women would be caught without Nivea Creme stashed in their bags because it's used so much! For me personally, it felt sticky at first but I've learned that a little goes a long way and it feels super light on my skin now.
The Nip+Fab glycolic acid pads has been a skin saviour ever since I started getting small bumps all over my forehead due to high-levels of stress thanks to writing my Masters' thesis. Since I started using it a couple of months ago, it's really helped me - gradually - clear up my skin. As for The Body Shop's matcha mask? Well for starters it smells amazing and secondly, it really is the best for combatting clogged pores - especially for us city dwellers!

All I'm wearing is mascara, eyebrow pencil and some SPF that doubles up as a BB cream! ❤️
On another note: You know.. there's been so many moments this week where I've been full of self-doubt and worries. In fact, I'm having some of those feelings right now and it's been a struggle trying to remind myself that this too shall pass. I feel lost at times and immensely frustrated that there's not much that I can do in my current situation. I'm so used to having a clear goal and knowing what I need to do to get there that all this uncertainty and apprehension is driving me nuts.
And to add to that, I feel as if I can't speak to anyone about it. I just have this fear that no one will never understand or that I'll be judged for it. *sigh* I guess I'll have to learn to face my fears head on and just carry on.
Well I'm off to make some food for myself because I suddenly don't feel too great.
